Annual Appeal Letter

Dear Friends,

As I sit down to write to you tonight, I can feel the excitement of the holiday season. Because of you, two families will spend the season warm and safe in their new Habitat home. The walls you’ve built throughout the year will be filled with holiday cards, family photos, and new special traditions.

But our work is far from finished and we need your support. We are poised to serve more families than ever before. This holiday season, please join us in helping more hardworking, local families who are looking for a hand up – not a handout – in creating stability for themselves and their children.

There are many more families waiting for their chance to spend the holidays safely in a Habitat home. And with your kindness and generosity in 2024, we will help more families achieve their dream of homeownership. We are completing our final two homes in Glasco Ponds (for a total of eight!), and, as I wrote last year, we purchased a large tract of land to build our first development.

We have been given preliminary approvals (this is a long process, but what a goal!!) and expect to break ground for the road and infrastructure in early 2024. The plans for a ten lot Ulster Habitat subdivision are shown in the bottom picture on the right. Together, we are making this dream a reality!

We simply cannot do this without you. I know that you share my steadfast belief that safe, affordable housing is an essential part of a successful community. Your support for our mission – as a volunteer, donor, and advocate – has meant so much to me and to those we serve. Over the years, as the need has grown and become more urgent, you’ve stuck with us and helped move our mission forward. And we’re counting on you once more this year. Thank you for believing in something larger than ourselves, and for your willingness to share the gift of home!

Wishing you the merriest holiday season!

With gratitude,

Christine Brady LaValle
