We made history.
More than 40 community leaders joined us in Saugerties at Hope Springs for the land dedication of the first woods-to-cul-de-sac development by any Habitat for Humanity affiliate in New York State on Jeffery Court in Saugerties.
Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, Saugerties Supervisor Fred Costello, and New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey stood with us where we will build 10 homes for working families in Ulster County.
Senator Hinchey received the Habitat for Humanity of New York State Affordable Housing Champion Award, presented by HFH NYS CEO Michael Barrett, for sponsoring legislation that creates property tax incentives for affordable homeownership.
Habitat leaders from Dutchess and Orange counties joined us to celebrate this milestone. Bob Siracusano of Sawyer Motors announced Ulster County Habitat as a beneficiary of their 2026 car show. And Ulster County Poet Laureate Mike Jurkovic reminded us why we’re here: “We break ground to break bread.”
10 homes. 10 families. Real solutions to Ulster County’s housing crisis.
Thank you to everyone building Hope Springs with us!
Building Ulster County together.
