Kingston, New York. Thursday, December 5th, 2024. Ulster County Habitat for Humanity announced a new program today with help from a grant from T-Mobile.
T-Mobile staff presented a check for $5,000 today to Ulster Habitat. T-Mobile staff also volunteered their time to help out at the ReStore.
The check was presented by T-Mobile Rural Market Manager James Parsons. Parsons and his team had nominated Ulster Habitat for the award through their corporate giving program. This award will be used to help start a Ramps program – providing temporary and permanent ramps to wheelchair users in the Ulster County Area.
Everyone was extremely excited. ReStore Manager Lee Anne Albritton said, “We love seeing T-Mobile here! We get a lot of people calling about ramps, and it’s a great way to help the community in smaller ways. Large volunteer groups also are a huge help getting the work done needed to sell items to further Ulster Habitat’s Mission.”
Volunteer and Family Services Coordinator Carolyn Hurley stated, “We’re thrilled that T-Mobile has supported us with a grant to help launch our Ramps Program. For years, we’ve received countless calls from Ulster County residents in need of ramps—whether for a permanent solution for a family member or a temporary structure for specific situations. Thanks to this support, we can now provide these essential structures, empowering families to create safer, more accessible homes.”
