Women don’t knock on doors. We build them.
September 22–26, 2026 | Hope Springs, Saugerties
Women Build is back, and this year we’re going bigger.
Ulster County Habitat for Humanity has hosted Women Builds before, and the energy on those job sites told us something: when women show up to build, they bring more than a hammer. They bring their networks, their nerve, and their willingness to lead. So we’re raising the stakes.
Women Build 2026 is our first peer-to-peer fundraising and build week. Twenty teams. Five days. One community goal: help a local family earn the keys to a home of their own. Our target is $50,000, and every dollar stays right here in Ulster County.
This is Ulster County’s chapter in a national story. Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity initiative that has mobilized women across the country to advocate for affordable housing since 1991. What makes it special is that each affiliate gets to shape the event around its own community, and ours is built around the women of Ulster County: the ones who show up, the ones who lead, the ones who don’t wait to be invited in.
What the Week Looks Like
Each day, four teams of five will work on site at Hope Springs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by lunch together. Teams welcome women and allies of all skill levels, and we ask that each team include at least three women, with a woman as team captain. No experience required. No tools required. Just bring your energy and your crew.
How to Get Involved
There is a place for you on this build site, whether you want to swing a hammer, write a check, or rally your people.
- Start a team or join one. Gather your friends, your coworkers, your book club, your softball team, or sign up to join a captain who’s looking for teammates. You set the fundraising goal. We provide the tools, the build, and the experience. Register your team here.
- Sponsor. Three tiers available: Threshold ($1,000), Key Holder ($2,500), and Door Opener ($5,000). Each puts your name in front of an engaged community of supporters across Ulster County.
- Donate. Every gift, of any size, gets us closer to $50,000 and to handing a family the keys.
Let’s Talk
