About the Workshops
Throughout 2026, community members of all skill levels and backgrounds are invited to explore the meditative art form of Kintsugi. No experience necessary. The pottery/ceramics will be sourced from the ReStore and the instructor will provide the rest. Cost is only $20 per person.
Each session offers more than an art class. It’s an opportunity to slow down, connect with neighbors, and reflect on the power of restoration in our lives and community. Participants will create their own Kintsugi pieces to take home while contributing to a collective work that tells our shared story.
Gallery Exhibition
Our workshop series culminates in a community gallery event on June 27 at the ReStore, showcasing the beautiful pieces created throughout the year. This celebration will highlight not just the art itself but the connections forged and stories shared along the way.

About the Instructor

Tara DeLuca, MA, LCAT, ATR-BC is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Board-Certified Art Therapist. With a passion for healing through art, Tara has brought the transformative power of Art Therapy to diverse populations across pediatric and adult hospital settings in New York City, Nashville, and internationally in Qatar.
Most recently, Tara has begun offering kintsugi-inspired workshops, drawing creative inspiration from the traditional Japanese practice of mending broken pottery. Through a thoughtful and engaging hands-on process, participants are encouraged to reflect on the ideas of repair, transformation, and finding beauty in what has been broken.
This project is made possible with funds from the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
